ELECTRICAL LEADMAN
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Leadman or Electrical Foreman to take a leadership role in overseeing project-based electrical work. The ideal candidate will guide a team of professionals, providing clear direction, maintaining safety, and fostering a productive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, plan, schedule, assign, and inspect work performed by electricians and helpers, ensuring efficient project completion.
- Communicate daily with homeowners, contractors, and job site superintendents to coordinate and manage project needs.
- Create, develop, and implement detailed work plans for each project, ensuring all requirements are met.
- Estimate project scope, duration, and workforce needs, keeping management informed throughout the process.
- Assign productive tasks to helpers and ensure their effectiveness on the job.
- Interpret blueprints and directions accurately, and document walkthroughs and progress notes.
- Maintain detailed reports including expenditures and material lists.
- Enforce safety procedures and maintain a clean, secure work site.
- Provide on-the-job training and foster skill development among team members.
- Ensure proper use and security of tools, ladders, materials, and company vehicles.
- Manage the loading and unloading of tools and materials at the start and end of each day.
- Track and record change orders daily, maintaining accurate documentation.
- Conduct visual inspections to estimate material needs, adjusting for time-and-material or bid jobs as required.
- Assess supply logistics to maximize efficiency and profitability.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems, communicating findings to master electricians.
- Maintain professional, non-confrontational communication with clients and contractors, escalating issues as needed while upholding code requirements.
- Participate in job walks with customers for accurate project bidding and estimation.
- Maximize profit by managing hours and material use efficiently.
- Keep accurate billing paperwork and stay informed about procedures.
- Lead by example in fostering a positive and productive team culture.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Hands-on electrical experience in commercial or residential construction.
- Strong leadership and effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and contractors.
- Willingness to communicate after hours when necessary.
- Reliable judgment and discretion in handling after-hours issues and project scope.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safety standards and maintaining a clean job site.
- Experience estimating materials and labor for bid jobs and understanding billing procedures.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
